Pacific Islands - Hidden Tahiti Islands

Tahiti-Map-463-x-327The Islands of Tahiti are located in the heart of the South Pacific, 8 hours from Los Angeles and 5 hours from New Zealand. The islands of Bora Bora and Moorea, are famous honeymoon destinations, renowned for their bungalows and exclusive resorts. Some of the most spectacular resorts are located off the main island of Tahiti. There are a number of less known islands and resorts perfect for honeymooners, examples being Tikehau, Rangiroa, Raiatea and Huahine. Home to the capital city of Papeete, Tahiti is the economic center of French Polynesia. Since all flights arrive through Faa'a International Airport, your tailored Tahiti vacation will begin and end in Papeete. While you may be tempted to jet off immediately to the other islands, we recommend staying at least a day or two. Tahiti strikes an interesting contrast to some of the more quiet, secluded islands in the region; and with a selection of wonderful and convenient Tahiti resorts available, you will never regret staying.

Resort Island options are...

  Bora Bora
The most celebrated island in French Polynesia is Bora Bora and she really is the shining star of the South Pacific. Bora Bora Island is stunning and one of the few places on earth everyone hopes to witness in their life. The memory of it's stunning beauty will stay with you forever.

  Moorea
Believed to have inspired the mythical Bali Hai from James Michener's Tales of the South Pacific, Moorea is one of the most scenically striking islands in French Polynesia. But despite her immaculate beauty, she is not pretentious. Moorea has laid back vibe and is a warm and inviting place.

  Le Taha'a
Taha'a is a true botanical beauty with fertile valleys and sloping hillsides displaying banana, watermelon and coconut groves. Shaped like a flower, the island is a natural greenhouse of the prized Tahitian vanilla orchid and the intoxicating scent of vanilla permeates the air.

  Huahine
Huahine is an vast tropical jungle rich in coconut plantations, vanilla orchids, banana groves, breadfruit trees and watermelon fields. Beyond its lush landscapes, Huahine is a culturally preserved sanctuary with sacred temples hidden throughout dense vegetation. It will leave you entranced.

  Raiatea
The essence of Raiatea lies in it's culture and history. Believed to be the original birthplace of Polynesia, this island of legends is a secret garden of spirituality and hidden temples. Rich in heritage and an atmosphere of mystic wonder, Raiatea will intrigue you.

  Tikehau
Tikehau captures the full meaning of "going off the grid". This small atoll consists of many tiny white and pink sand islets covered in coconut groves and hidden alcoves. Tikehau means "peaceful landing," and you will find the ultimate serenity here.

  Rangiroa
Rangiroa is arguably  the world's largest natural aquarium. Blessed with a huge turquoise lagoon, this destination will definitely appeal to diver's. There are few roads here and the simplicity of life on this island provides a sense of calm and well-being.
