Your journey day by day...

Day 1 Arrive in Auckland and private transfer
On arrival at Auckland Airport, take a private transfer to your hotel for check-in. After check-in, explore the America's Cup village. Climb the Sky City Tower and see panoramic views of the city. Take a boat trip to beautiful Waiheke Island or Devonport Village.
 
Day 2 Travel to the Waitomo region
Drive your rental car to your next stay at a farm cottage near Otorohanga. On the way to the cottage, visit the famous Hamilton Gardens. Get ready for a fun adventure at the famous Waitomo Cafes.
 
Day 3 Discover the Waitomo / Waikato region
The Waitomo Caves are renowned for their architectural beauty. Go on a blackwater rafting adventure, abseil or zipline through the caves.
Day 4 Travel to New Plymouth
On your drive towards New Plymouth, stop on the way for the ‘Hairy Feet’ Lord of the Rings tour Travel through beautiful rural heartland on the “Forgotten Highway. Arrive at New Plymouth, home to Mount Taranaki.
 
Day 5 New Plymouth and the Taranaki National Park
Mt. Egmont/ Taranaki National Park is top of the list for nature lovers. Stroll the well maintained trails and touch the soft green mosses of this enchanting wonderland.
Day 6 Domestic flight to Invercargill and Stewart Island
Take a domestic flight to Invercargill, then another to Stewart Island. Rugged and beautiful, Stewart Island is a pristine paradise of native wildlife and outdoor activities. 
 
Day 7 Explore Stewart Island
Stewart Island is a true nature experience. Join a guided tour to see Ulva Island, an idyllic, predator-free bird sanctuary for rare birds. Ulva Island is home to many plant species and 266 hectares of great walking tracks.
Day 8 Invercargill to Fiordland region
Fly back to Invercargill and drive a rental car along the Southern Scenic Route to Te Anau. In Te Anau, take the ‘LOTR walk’ along the Waiau River. Fiordland has 1.3 million hectares of awesome untouched national heritage park.
 
Day 9 From Lake Manapouri to Doubtful Sound
Doubtful Sound is the deepest of the fiords with several magnificent waterfalls. Manapouri is the departure point for Doubtful Sound excursions. Choose the luxury ‘Southern Secret’ boat or the traditional coastal sailing ship, ‘Navigator’.
Day 10 Travel to Clyde in Central Otago
After returning at midday from your Doubtful Sound cruise, drive via Queenstown to Clyde, Central Otago, Absorb this ancient landscape and pan for gold near the old trails. Taste the region's famous Pinot Noir wine and visit remote sites.
 
Day 11 Explore the Central Otago region
The historic town of Clyde is surrounded by fruit orchards and vineyards. Hire a bike and cycle a portion of the Central Otago Rail Trail. Explore the Roxburgh Gorge Trail and Clutha Gold located deep in the heart of Central Otago.
Day 12 Travel to Mt. Cook & Lake Tekapo
Enjoy an easy drive from Clyde via Wanaka and Lindis Pass to Twizel or Lake Tekapo. This region enjoys clear starry nights, sunny days and startling turquoise lakes. There are many activities to choose from. A scenic flight with a snow landings is a must-do. 
 
Day 13 Travel to Arthurs Pass National Park
Drive north via the village of Geraldine on SH 79. Continue towards Rakaia Gorge on SH 72, then via SH 73 to Arthurs Pass. Stay 2 nights at the Wilderness Lodge at Arthur’s Pass to explore this spectacular alpine and wilderness region.
Day 14 Explore the Arthurs Pass NP region
Arthur's Pass National Park has gigantic peaks measuring over 2000 metres. Join expert guides to discover this beautiful 6000 acre property and the nearby Arthur's Pass National Park. See the real sheep farmers at work and hike mountain trails. 
 
Day 15 Travel to Christchurch and depart
Travel to Christchurch via the Canterbury Plains, a vast quilt of agricultural land. If you have plenty of time before flying out, take a day drive to the gorgeous fishing village of Akaroa  (a 1.5 hour drive one-way).
