12 Days New Zealand North and South Islands - Full Itinerary

Experience the Essence of New Zealand in 12 days

Day 1 - Arrival in Auckland and private hotel transfer
At Auckland Airport, a private driver will meet for transfer to your hotel. If arriving early, stay awake as long as possible to avoid jet-lag. Explore the America's Cup village and climb the Sky Tower to view Auckland City and harbour. Take a boat trip to either beautiful Waiheke Island or the picturesque Devonport Village. Visit the shops and cafes of Parnell Village.

Day 2 - Travel via Waitomo Caves to Rotorua
Travel via the Waikato region to the famous Waitomo caves (225 km, 140 miles, 3 hours). See the beauty of the stalactites and galaxy of native glow worms. The best way to see the caves is by walking or joining a boat tour. For active adventure, blackwater-raft through the caves on a rubber tube. For a bigger challenge, abseil or  zip-line through the darkness. The Ruakuri Cave does not require a wetsuit. Let us know if you want to include the more adventurous ‘Black Water Rafting’ or abseiling (4 or 7 hours). If you’re doing the abseiling tours, stay in the Waitomo region. Otherwise, continue on to Rotorua (140 km, 87 miles, 2 hours).

Day 3 - Explore Rotorua and Lake Taupo
Rotorua is a geothermal wonderland of bubbling mud pools and natural hot springs.
