Day 1.

Arrive in Sydney and stay two nights. One of the most beautiful cities in the world, Sydney has a stunning harbour and beaches, exciting shopping and eating and a great nightlife scene.

Day 2.

Spend the day exploring Sydney - the Queen Victoria Building, Darling Harbour, the Opera House, The Rocks and some of the stunning harbour suburbs such as Potts Point, ritzy Double Bay and Watsons Bay.

Day 3.

Fly from Sydney to Cairns with Virgin Blue.Your accommodation is just minutes from 4 Mile Beach where you can swim in the warm tropical waters before exploring the small holiday town of Port Douglas where your accommodation is centrally located.

Day 4.

Choose between a day trip onto the Great Barrier Reef with snorkelling and diving among the spectacular coral formations a popular activity, or the Daintree Forest National Park. Experience the unique and beautiful tropical fauna and wildlife of this 76000 hectare National park - the largest tract of tropical rainforest remaining in Australia. Guided wildlife cruises explore the Daintree River and you can get close to a saltwater crocodile here.

Day 5.

Fly from Cairns to Alice Springs and experience real outback Australia. Nature has an overwhelming power here - the skyscrapers are made of rock, not steel, and one of the best shows in town is the spectacular million-star night-time display. Its arid environment is home to a large population of unique animals, birds and reptiles. Wallabies, dingoes, emus, tiny geckos and huge eagles are just some of the long-established locals you’re likely to encounter.

Day 6.

Do a day tour into the Outback. Experience Ayers Rock-Uluru and the Kata Tjuta National Park - Take a cultural tour with an Aboriginal guide, or a campfire dinner, where you can savour barramundi, emu or kangaroo underneath an incomparable starlit sky. Uluru’s cousins, the Olgas, or Kata Tjuta, form another sacred site just 32 kilometres away: a collection of 36 steep, rounded, russet domes over around 3,500 hectares.

Day 7.

Fly from Alice Springs to Melbourne. Your accommodation here is in St Kilda, a beachside suburb an easy tram ride from the city centre and close to great cafes and interesting shopping.

Day 8.

Explore Melbournes stunning architecture, great dining, art galleries, parks, gardens and shops. The Victoria Market is well worth a visit, city centre is attractive and easy to find your way around and the shopping in Bridge and Chapel Streets is for those in need of serious retail therapy.

Day 9.

Fly from Melbourne to Christchurch, New Zealand - a 3 hour trip.

Day 10.

Christchurch is a pretty city with many trees, gardens and a gentle river winding through it. Visit the Arts Centre and new Art Gallery and botanical gardens. Other options include the International Antarctic Centre or a day trip to Akaroa on Banks Peninsula.

Day 11.

Train journey with TranzAlpine to Greymouth through the magnificent Southern Alps.Pick-up your rental car at the train station and continue to Franz Josef Glacier.If the weather is clear when you arrive take a flight by helicopter up onto the glacier below Mt Cook for stunning views of the Southern Alps and the bush and beaches of the West Coast.

Day 12.

Have a full day available to explore the glacier, Okarito Lagoon and the many bush walks around the area.

Day 13.

Travel to Queenstown via Haast Pass.This is a particularly beautiful drive and you are likely to want to stop often. If time allows, drive into Wanaka an hour south of Queenstown. This pretty lakeside town is surrounded by mountains and is a popular ski resort in winter.

Day 14.

Included in your itinerary is a trip from Queenstown airport to Milford with Real Journeys - you can see the beauty of Fiordland from the air and on the water. You will have plenty of time in Queenstown after the flight returns to explore or go rafting, horse trekking or simply have a relaxing afternoon.

Day 15.

Fly from Queenstown to Rotorua in the central North Island. Relax in the hot pools when you arrive and visit a Thermal Reserve.

Day 16.

Have a full day available in Rotorua. Explore the volcanic areas and hot pools around the town, a traditional Hangi concert and visit to a Maori Village, a boat trip with fishing on the lake or a scenic flight over volcanic White Island.

Day 17.

Drive to Auckland and stay a last night in the city centre.From your central downtown accommodation you can stroll to the Viaduct basin, waterfront cafes and bars, take a boat across to Devonport, take in some last minute shopping and take a ride up the Sky Tower for views over the city and harbour.

Day 18.

International flight to Nadi/Fiji from Auckland.Depending on your arrival time you may need to overnight in Nadi or we can arrange the short flight out to Castaway Island.

Day 19.

Castaway Island resort is a small, very friendly resort which caters for couples as well as families. The atmosphere is relaxed, slip into Fijian time, the beach and pool are the places you are most likely to spend the next few days. In the evenings, traditional Fijian music and dance entertainment is provided in the restaurant and bar.

Day 20.

Take a boat trip out to the reef for some deep sea fishing or a diving or snorkelling trip.

Day 21.

Relax some more - if you feel like some energetic activity, join in the beach volleyball games or take a kayak trip along the golden beaches.
