The Hollyford 3 Day Wilderness Journey is an all inclusive spectacular walk from the mountains to the sea that is suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. You can start the trip from either Queenstown or Te Anau. The Hollyford Track is lesser known than the Milford but equally as spectacular in geography with snow capped mountains, glaciers, rainforests, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, reefs, sand dunes and surf. The experiences are diverse - hiking, wildlife interaction, historical tales, jet boating, and a magnificent scenic flight to Milford Sound.
Included in the package is return transport from Queenstown or Te Anau to the track, meals, snacks, accommodation, and use of backpacks and rain jackets. Accommodation is in well appointed lodges with twin share rooms and the hospitality and food are of a very high standard. Expert guides will ensure your group (maximum 16 people) experience New Zealand's wilderness at its best. The season operates from late October through to April and early bookings are recommended as this is a very popular tramping option for anyone of average fitness and for most age groups.

Our consultant Liz has just returned to the office looking tanned and relaxed after 2 weeks in North Queensland and the sunshine coast. Highlights included a stay at the wonderful Kewarra Beach Resort. Situated right on the beach and surrounded by tropical rain forest, the resort is only 15 minutes from the airport at Cairns and is a fantastic option for accommodation for those wanting to explore the Port Douglas area, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree National Park. Kewarra Beach Resort was included in the Conde Nast U.S.A. Gold or Gold Reserve Lists for 2005 and is one of only 5 properties in Queensland to be included. Others are Lizard Island, Hayman Island, Heron Island Beach Resort and the Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast. Their selection of the top 700 places to stay in the world, which includes Hotels, Resorts and Cruise Lines.
Set on it’s own private beach frontage and surrounded by tropical botanic gardens Kewarra’s ambience is born of an exciting mix of cultures giving it a strong sense of place, complimented by warm and friendly staff who know how to make their guests feel special. Liz hired a rental car with Ezy Rentals in both Brisbane and Cairns, both in convenient locations and allowing her and husband Simon to get around independently, see the most of the area and find the best places to eat! They both enjoyed the Calypso Reef snorkelling trip from Port Douglas and recommend travelers include this in their itinerary.
Liz also visited Thala Beach Resort, another one of our favourite accommodations for Northern Queensland with its private sandy beach and individual bungalows built on poles in the bush with stunning views of the sea or rainforest and native tree canopy. This property is situated 1/2 way between Cairns and Port Douglas.
