We offer two types of accommodation.Port of Call has one guest room in the main house, located on the ground floor in a private setting with own bathroom and toilet facilities, hair dryer, toiletries and a self catered private cottage (known as 'The Bach') on the property with ensuite facilities set amongst native bush and ferns. A wonderful getaway ideal for a couple.
The views from the main house are stunning and the sitting room has an open fire.
We also offer 'Stewart Island Watertaxi and Ecoguiding', a fast, efficient and friendly service run by Ian Wilson, a sixth generation Stewart Islander. Ian is also a Paua Diver and has 20 years experience in the waters around Stewart Island.
From the house, walk 5 minutes to Harrolds Bay and see the stone house,one of the oldest buildings in New Zealand built in the early 1830’s.Walk on through coastal forest to the light house at Acker’s point a walk of 20 minutes. At dusk you can watch sooty shearwaters [mutton birds] and little blue penguins return to their burrows around the point.The walk into Halfmoon Bay is 15 to 20 minutes.
