Costs are based on two people travelling and staying in a twin/double room.
Day 1.
Arrive Auckland. Visit the Americas Cup Village and Sky Tower and take a boat trip to Waiheke Island.
Day 2.
Drive to Rotorua (80 km, 50 miles, 1 hour). Visit the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve (optinonal) and experience a traditional hangi and cultural show.
Day 3.
Fishing Rotorua area.
Day 4.
Fly Rotorua to Christchurch. Drive to Hokitika on the West Coast (258 km, 160 miles, 3 hours). Past Lake Brunner on the way. This glacial formed lake has a stunning mountain backdrop and great fishing.
Day 5.
Fishing Lake Brunner area.
Day 6.
Drive to Lake Moeraki (290 km, 180 miles, 3.5 hours). This scenic drive down the West Coast takes you to Hokitika where you can see Jade carvers at work, and onto the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. We recommend you take a helicopter trip or a helihiking tour (both optional) up onto the glacier for magnificent views of Mt Cook and the southern mountain divide as well as a birds eye view of the glaciers. Take a walk around Lake Matheson.
Day 7.
This premier nature lodge offers a range of activities, including trout fishing, guided rainforest and coast walks where you can view elephant seals, Hectors Dolphins and penguins, canoe trips, mountain biking, kayaks and glow worm cave/night sky walks.
Day 8.
Drive to Wanaka (180 km,112 miles, 2.25 hours) via the spectacular Haast Pass. Fishing in lake Wanaka and the Clutha River.
Day 9.
Fishing in the Wanaka area.
Day 10.
Drive to Te Anau in the Fiordland National Park (273 km, 170 miles, 3.5 hours). Fly fishing with Fiordland Guides (optional).
Day 11.
Fishing in the Fiordland area.
Day 12.
Take a trip into Milford Sound for the day. Fly or drive and take a boat trip on the sound. Return from Te Anau to Queenstown (170km, 105 miles, 2 hours).
Day 13.
Drive to Lake Tekapo (258 km, 160 miles, 3hours) via Mt Cook and lakes Dunstan and Pukaki. Good trout and river fishing is available along the very accessible canals and rivers along the way.
Day 14.
Fishing or sightseeing in the Mt. Cook area.
Day 15.
Return to Christchurch (226 km, 140 miles, 2.75 hours) crossing the Rangitata and Rakaia Rivers, two of the best salmon fishing rivers in New Zealand. Depart Christchurch (or stay on a few extra days!)
